I am reviewing this the same day as delivery. I will update further on quality and craftsmanship later. The watch is absolutely stunning. I love the color of the blue Mother of pearl face. It does really flash the purple and pink hues in the stock photos. I was worried it would not , and look like a basic blue faced watch. It's hard to find a Mother of Pearl face (especially a blue/purple) in this price point. Now I am getting ready to turn 50 and my eyesight is not what it used to be. Bigger might be better in this case. I just was not expecting the watch face to big this big. My typical watches are the size of a quarter ( see photos for comparison). It will take some getting used to with the size of the face. The band is Stainless Steel and very lightweight. The watch BRAND is Stuhrling, the BAND is not Sterling Silver as someone else made the comment about in their review. It is really lightweight. Some say it feels Cheap because of this, however for the size of this watch, I would not want it to be as heavy as a man's watch of similar size. The band does have a little "rattle" of a less expensive watch. However, I got this on sale for under $75. It's hard to compare this watch to the quality of a $200-$300 Seiko or Citizen watch (or even something more expensive). It has a nice clasp similar to a high-end watch. I picked this watch out, so I knew what I was getting. The packaging/presentation is nice so it could easily make a nice gift. The lightweight & "tink" sound of the band does give off a negative first impression as a gift, but the mother of pearl face, makes this a wow impression. If you consider what you're paying & realize this isn't a $300+ watch, I think you will be happy. Additionally, it is water resistant to 30 meters. It has a Miyota Japanese Quartz movement. Unless you are purchasing a luxury watch with a Swiss movement or automatic watch, the majority of low to mid ranked /priced watch makers (even Seiko, Citizen and others) use a Japanese movement. You can Google Miyota for more details specific to the movement used in this watch. I'll give an update if I run into any issues with overall performance at a later date.**BOTTOM LINE** You're not paying a luxury price, so this can't compare by any means to a luxury watch brand like a Movado, Tag Heuer or any higher quality brand. This is more in line with a Timex, Casio or Armitron. I wouldn't even compare it to a mid-grade brand like Seiko, Citizen or Bulova. Take all these things into consideration to determine if this watch will suit your needs and lifestyle. It's a beautiful, low-priced timepiece that you'll get lots of compliments on. Luxury "Look" (maybe not feel), but not luxury "Priced" either!Gorgeous! I had this watch in a wishlist for several months, then just happened to notice the price came down significantly. Naturally, I jumped on it. And I'm so glad I did. I collect watches; mostly Fossil, but also Titan, Invicta, Skagen, and Stuhrling. This watch is beautiful with a double row ring of light-catching crystals around the bezel, and more crystals as indices on the face between the Roman numerals of 12, 3, 6, and 9. The silver hands show up perfectly against the blue mother-of-pearl face with shimmers of pink and purple, and the band very lightweight stainless steel. Now, some people (who don't collect watches) think the band is too light to last, but I have many other stainless steel watches that are equally as light that have stood the test of time, being worn daily in all kinds of situations including my 9 years in the military, every one of them still shiny and in good condition. Their light weight is due to the links being hollow, mostly for the purpose of not weighing down a woman's wrist. Typically, for men's watches, the links are solid, adding that heft and weight that men tend to prefer. So don't be dissuaded by the lightness of the band, it will last just as long as solid stainless steel bands. The only issue you may have to contend with, is sizing the band. Since I collect watches, I also have a watch maintenance kit that includes tools to remove the pins in the band links, so I was able to size the band myself. If you don't have a watch kit, you can unfold a small stainless steel paperclip to use to push the pins out. Just be sure to follow the arrows on the inside of the links so you push them out in the correct direction. Or make it easy on yourself and stop in a local jewelry store and ask the jeweler to do it. I ended up removing a total of 4 links, 2 from each side, to make it fit my wrist. As always, I set the watch in accordance to the atomic clock. Doing so let's you make sure the watch is keeping time perfectly, not going too slow and losing seconds, because you can compare it to the atomic clock at any time. Now, since I often change out my watches, I always pull the setting knob out before storing a watch so that the battery isn't running down for no reason. That way I don't have to change batteries as often. Overall I'm head over heels for this watch and would recommend it to anyone. The color was radiant, and captivating, definitely worth the moneyI was excited to give this as a Christmas gift. It arrived on Christmas Eve just in time. I thought to my self "Okay, cool, it arrived". When I opened the package and saw the remarkable packaging, i was impressed by the black and orange box it was packaged in. It came with warranty information & some cards talking about the company Stuhrling. It definitely looked like a high quality product.Pros: The face of the watch is beautiful and has a unique color which persuaded me to buy it. It's a brilliant blue/purple. It features crystals around the outside of the watch which give it an elegant look. I believe the timepiece is either swiss or german made.Cons: The band feels like cheap aluminum and weighs nearly nothing at all. It's supposed to be stirling silver but I'm questioning that claim with great suspicion. There's also no date/day of the week feature.Summary: This watch could be amazing if the band was of higher quality material. The person i gave this to was not impressed with the band. They loved the face and crystals but said it felt and looked cheap. Unfortunately I'm returning this watch. 2/5 Stars based solely on the watch face and packaging of the product. I would not buy from Stuhrling again based on this experience.Had it for one day, and so far so good. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because when I had it sized, each link is a "double" link, and so for me it was going to be either too tight, or too loose. Other than that, I am quite pleased with how it looks. If something changes, I'll let you know.
